HTET 2019-20: Eligibility Criteria, Application Form & How to Apply

HTET 2019: The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted every year by the Department of Board of School Education, Haryana. The main purpose of this examination is to make candidates eligible for the teaching posts in state schools of Haryana.

It is mandatory for all candidates to qualify "Teacher Eligibility Test" who are looking their career in teaching profession up to XII class. The examination is only qualifying in nature.

The online application registration starts every year on October 2019 and available up to end of November. 2-3 days will be allotted to correction in particular.

The whole examination will be held in the month of November 2019.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Primary Teacher, Trained Graduate Teacher and Post Graduate Teacher is given below.

Level 1 Eligibility

(i) Qualification
  • 10+2 (or equivalent) with at least 50% (45% NCTE) marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education/ 2-year diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and Passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. And
(ii) Candidate should contain Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit OR Sr. Secondary/Graduation /Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

Level 2 Eligibility

The candidate has to choose any one subject from the following subjects given below for TGT TET.

TGT Social Studies

i) Qualification

  • B.A./B.Com and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A./B.Com with at least 50% marks and 1-year bachelor in Education (B.ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EL.ED.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years BA/B.Com Ed; Or
  • B.A/B.Com at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) And
ii) In case of B.A./B.Com, in addition to English, a combination of at least two subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate individually in the subjects during all the years of study out of the following:
1. History 2. Political Science 3. Economics 4. Geography 5. Sociology 6. Psychology.

Note: At least History or Geography should have been for all the three years of Graduation.

iii) In case of B.Ed., Social Studies as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
iv) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.

TGT Science

i) Qualification
  • B.Sc. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.Sc with at least 50% marks and 1-year bachelor in Education (B.ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EL.ED). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.Sc Ed; Or
  • B.Sc. at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education). And
ii) In the case of B.Sc., a combination of at least three subjects out of the following:

1) Physics 2) Chemistry 3) Botany 4) Zoology 5) Mathematics.

Note: In the case of Hons. Degree, in any of the above-mentioned subjects, the candidate must have studied the other two subjects in the first and second year of course.
iii) In the case of B.Ed., Science as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
iv) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.

TGT Mathematics

i) Qualification
  • B.A./ B.Sc/ B.Com with at least 50% marks in Mathematics as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A./ B.Sc/ B.Com with at least 50% marks as well as in Mathematics as an elective subject and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com Ed. or BA Ed./ B.Sc. Ed/ B.Com Ed. Or
  • B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com with at least 50% marks as well as in Mathematics as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed. And
(ii) In case of B.Ed., Mathematics as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT English

i) Qualification
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in English as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in English as an elective subject and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in English as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed. And
(ii) In case of B.Ed., English as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT Hindi

i) Qualification
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Hindi as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Hindi as an elective subject and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Hindi as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed. And
(ii) In case of B.Ed., Hindi as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject. And

TGT Sanskrit

i) Qualification
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Sanskrit as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Sanskrit as an elective subject and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Sanskrit as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed. Or
  • Shastri with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and Shiksha Shastri/ Language Teacher Course (L.T.C)/ Oriental Training (O.T.) in Sanskrit conducted by the Haryana Government or an equivalent qualification recognized by Haryana Education Department. And
(ii) In case of B.Ed., Sanskrit as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT Punjabi

i) Qualification
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Punjabi as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Punjabi as an elective subject and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed.And
(ii) In case of B.Ed., Punjabi as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT Urdu

i) Qualification
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Urdu as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Urdu as an elective subject and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Urdu as an elective subject and 1-year B.Ed. And
(ii) In case of B.Ed., Urdu as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT Physical Education

i) Graduate with a Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) or its equivalent from a recognized University. And
ii) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.

TGT Home Science

i) Qualification
  • i) B.Sc. Home Science and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.Sc Home Science with at least 50% marks and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. B.Sc. Ed. Or
  • B.Sc. Home Science with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education). And
(ii) In the case of B.A., at least 50% marks in Home Sciences as one of the elective subject. And
(iii) In case of B.A., Home Science as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iv) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT Art

i) Qualification
  • B.F.A/B.A. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.F.A/B.A. with at least 50% marks and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.F.A/B.A. with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education). And
(ii) In the case of B.A., at least 50% marks in Fine Arts as one of the elective subjects. And
(iii) In case of B.Ed., Fine Art as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iv) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

TGT Music

i) Qualification
  • B.A. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks and 1 -year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A. Ed. Or
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education). And
(ii) In the case of B.A Music (Instrumental/ vocal), at least 50% marks in Music as an elective subject. And
(iii) In the case of B.Ed., Music as a teaching subject from a recognized university. And
(iv) Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

Level 3 Eligibility

(i) PGT English, (ii) PGT Hindi (iii) PGT Geography (iv) PGT Home Science (v) PGT Sociology, (vi) PGT Psychology, (vii) PGT Punjabi, (viii) PGT Urdu, (ix) PGT History;
  • Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

PGT Political Science

  • M.A. Political Science or M.A. Public Administration with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.ED. from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

PGT Sanskrit

  • M.A Sanskrit/Acharya with at least 50% marks and B.Ed/ Shiksha Shastri/ Language Teacher Course (L.TC)/ Oriental Training (O.T.) in Sanskrit from a recognized university or conducted by the Haryana School Education Department or an equivalent qualification recognized by Haryana Education Department. And
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

PGT Biology

  • M.Sc. Zoology/Botany/Bio-Sciences/Bio-Chemistry/Genetics/Micro-Biology/Plant Physiology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Molecular Bio/Clinical Bio-Chemistry/Agricultural Bio-Technology/Bio-Informatics/ Medical Bio-Technology/Environmental Sciences/Environmental Bio-Technology/ Food Technology/ Forensic Sciences/ Microbial Bio-Technology/ Genomics with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.

PGT Physics

  • M.Sc. Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.ED from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.

PGT Chemistry

  • M.Sc Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.

PGT Mathematics

  • M.A./M.Sc. Math/ Applied Mathematics with Mathematics as one of the subject at Graduation level with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.

PGT Commerce

  • M.Com with accounting/ Cost accounting/ financial accounting as a major subject of study with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university. Holder of M.Com in Applied/ Business Economics shall not be eligible. And
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi one of the Subjects.

PGT Economics

  • M.A. Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi one of the Subjects.

PGT Music

  • M.A. Music with at least 50% marks and B.ED from a recognised university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.

PGT Fine Arts

  • M.A. Fine Arts with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from a recognised university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.

PGT Computer Science

  • M.Sc Computer Science (Regular two-year course/ MCA (Regular three-year course) BE/ B. Tech Computer Science/ Computer Engg. / IT (Regular course) with 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university. And
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

PGT Physical Education

  • M.A. Physical Education or M.P.Ed. with at least 50% marks, and Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) or its equivalent from a recognized University. And
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.

Online Application Form

Haryana TET online registration process starts every year in the mid of October. The online application portal remain open for a month. Let's follow the steps given below to apply online.

How to Apply

  • First of all, visit the official website of Haryana TET www.htetonline.com.
  • On the homepage, you will be given a link "Apply Online HTET 2019", so visit it.
  • On the next screen, choose "Proceed to Apply Online".
  • After then, Fill Registration Form, Upload Photos, Signature and Thumb impression.
  • At last, make your fee payment through online mode and finally, your application submitted successfully.
Note: Carefully choose Level 1 (PRT) Classes I to V, Level 2 (TGT) Classes VI to VIII and Level 3 (PGT) Classes IX to XII and subject for which you are applying.

Note: Candidate can apply for any two or all three level in a single application and there is no need to apply separately.
