Here, you will able to check SSC CHSL syllabus 2019. Before starting preparation, candidates must aware of SSC CHSL syllabus 2019. The SSC CHSL examination is divided into three stages; Tier I (Computer-based examination), Tier II (Descriptive paper) and Tier III (Skill Test/Typing Test).

The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV. Tier II is descriptive, where the candidate has to write essays, letter etc. Those who qualify Tier II goes to skill/typing test which is named as Tier III.   • The SSC CHSL Tier I examination is divided into four parts; English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence, General Awareness.
  • Each part contains 25 MCQs of 50 marks and each question carries 2 marks
  • There will be negative marking of @ 25% (0.50 Marks) of each wrong answer.

1. English Language

English section will comprise questions from the following topics. Each topic contributes to 2-3 MCQ's in the English section.
  • Spot the Error
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Synonyms/Antonyms
  • Spelling Error
  • Detecting misspelt words
  • Idiom and Phrases
  • One word substitution
  • Improvement of sentences
  • Active voice/Passive voice of Verbs
  • Conversion into Direct and Indirect narration
  • Shuffling of Sentence parts
  • Shuffling of Sentences in a Passage
  • Para Jumble (1-5 MCQ's)
  • Cloze Passage (5 MCQ's)
  • Comprehension Passage (5 MCQ's)

2. Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative Aptitude section will comprise questions from the following topics.
  • Arithmetic: Number system, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, HCF and LCM, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Partnership, Time & Distance, Time & Work and Mixture & Allegation. (15-20 MCQ's)
  • Algebra: Surds, and Graph of Linear Equation. (3-5 MCQ's)
  • Geometry: Triangle, Circle and its Chord, Tangent, and Angle subtended by Chord of a circle. (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Mensuration: Area and volume of the right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemisphere, etc. (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances and standard Identities like sin2A + Cos2A=1 etc. (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Data Interpretation: Use of Tables and Graphs Histogram, Fequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart. (2-3 MCQ's)

3. General Intelligence And Reasoning

General intelligence & reasoning comprises the following topics:
  • Analogy (3-4 MCQ's)
  • Venn Diagram (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Number Classification and Number series (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Pattern folding and unfolding (3-4 MCQ's)
  • Verbal Reasoning (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning (3-4 MCQ's)
  • Coding-Decoding (2-3 MCQ's)
  • Figural classification (2-3 MCQ's)

4. General Awareness

General Awareness section will comprise the following topics that are given below
  • Indian history (4-5 MCQ's)
  • Indian Polity (3-4 MCQ's)
  • Geography (4-5 MCQ's)
  • Economics and Current Affair (3-4 MCQ's)
  • General Science (4-5 MCQ's)
  • Static and Current GK (5-6 MCQ's)
Note: There will no question of the Map, Graph, Diagrams and Statistical Data for those who are visually handicapped above 40% and above disability.

Tier II Descriptive Paper

Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in Pen and Paper mode. The duration of the Descriptive Paper would be for one hour. The candidate has to write these papers in either English or Hindi language.
  • One Letter/Application 150-200 words of 50 Marks.
  • One Essay of 200-250 words of 50 Marks.
The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 %. But the performance of Tier II would be included for preparing merit.

Tier III Skill/Typing Test

Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission or its authorized agency. Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
