TNTET Exam 2018

TNTET is the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test which is conducted by Tamil Nadu Recruitment board every year. The main purpose of conducting this exam is to make the candidate eligible for the post of teacher in Tamil Nadu schools.


This exam is important for those who want to make their career in teaching for classes I to VIII. This is also important because you can not apply for any teaching post without qualifying TET. TN-TET Exam Dates 2018

Tamil Nadu TET Eligibility Criteria

Paper I Eligibility

Candidates who have passed high secondary course (10 +2) Pattern and

Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education

from a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET
Note: Candidates who had appeared in the final year of Diploma in Elementary Education examination can also apply for Paper 1.

Paper II Eligibility

Candidates who have passed a Bachelor's Degree (B.A. /B.Sc./B.Litt.) with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography as major subjects in their Degree course or a Degree with any one of the equivalent subjects from a Recognized University under 10+2+3 Pattern and

Bachelor's Degree in Education B.ed. from a recognized University and seeking an appointment as Graduate Teacher can write Paper II. The Candidates with B.Lit., (Tamil) degree should possess either B.Ed. or D.T.ED or TPT.

Note: Candidates who are appearing for the final year of B.ed. are also allowed to appear for Paper-II in Teacher Eligibility Test.

Paper 1 Exam Pattern

In Paper 1, each section contains 30 questions and the total number of questions is going to be 150.

Each question contains 1 mark and maximum marks will be 150. The total time of 3 hours is given to complete the exam.

Paper 2 Exam Pattern

In Paper 2, there are 10 questions in first three sections whereas Mathematics (Science) and Social science part contain 60-60 questions each.

The total number of questions is going to be 150.  Each question contains one mark and maximum marks will be 150. The maximum time of three hours is given to complete the exam.

TNTET Answer Key 2017

After the exam a tentative answer key released by Tamil Nadu recruitment board. If someone has any objection to the tentative answer key then they can challenge with proof of each wrong answer.

The tentative answer key only available after the exam for a shorter period only. After reviewing all the objections a final answer key released by the recruitment board.

TNTET Result 2017-18
