CTET - Central Teacher Eligibility Test 

CTET is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test which is conducted by CBSE every year. The main purpose to conduct CTET is to make candidates eligible for the appointment as a teacher in central schools (KVS, NVS, Union Territory States Schools) for classes I to VIII.

CTET Online form 2018




CTET online Application form 2018 will be available from the month of April. Candidate can apply through official website of CTET - www.ctet.nic.in. Before applying for the exam aspirants can check CTET application form fee structure given below.

To apply for Central Teacher Eligibility Test just follow the steps given below:

Step 4: Preview your application form.
Step 5: At last, submit your fee and print your application form for future reference.

CTET Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Teacher for Class I-V

10+2 with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education/4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E.ED)/2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (Special Education) OR Graduation (B.A./B.sc/B.com) with Diploma in Elementary Education.

Eligibility Criteria for Teacher for Class V-VIII

Graduation (B.A/B.sc/B.com etc) and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/1-year B.Ed. (Special Education. OR 10+2 with at least 50% marks and 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/ 4 years B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

Note: Candidates who are appearing in the final year of respected courses can also apply for CTET.

CTET Exam Pattern

Central Teacher Eligibility Test contains two types of papers. Paper 1 for the Primary stage (Classes I-V) and Paper 2 for the Elementary stage (Classes V-VIII). You can check exam pattern for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Nature of Questions

Child Development and Pedagogy: The main focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. The questions form on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning can also be seen.
Language  1: Focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.
Language 2: Focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
Mathematics and Environmental Studies: Concepts, Problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.

Paper 1 questions will be based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus of the NCERT syllabus for classes I-V. But their difficulty standard and linkage can be up to Senior Secondary level.

Nature of Questions:

CTET Qualifying Marks



CTET exam is only qualifying in nature. Candidates who scored the following minimum marks get qualified the exam.
