UGC NET e Certificate: How to Get, Download, Validity and More

As we know, CBSE conducts examinations of National Eligibility Test twice in a year for various subjects. The candidates who qualify this exam become eligible for the post of Assistant Professor or to get the awards of Junior Research Fellowship.

After qualifying this exam, you will need a valid certificate to be called a NET qualifier on various platforms. For this purpose, UGC issues e Certificate to qualified candidates after declaring each of its results.

After qualifying UGC NET exam, candidates often don't know about the further process of getting, downloading, validity period and in case of loss or damage of certificate. So in this post, we provide you full information of UGC NET e Certificate.

How to Get UGC NET e Certificate



To download e-Certificate you have to follow the given steps below:

STEP 1: First of all, to download e Certificate visit www.ugcnetonline.in. the official website of UGC.

STEP 2: On the home page you will get three options:
i) UGC NET e Certificate for June 2010 to Dec 2010.
ii) UGC NET e certificate from June 2011 Onwards.
iii) Joint CSIR-UGC NET e Certificate.

STEP 3: Choose an option for which you want to download e Certificate. Certificate from June 2010 to Dec 2010 does not need a password.

STEP 4: In the rest of options, you will be asked for "Have you generated password through OTP after the given date (15/06/2017)". If you had generated then tick "Yes" otherwise tick "No".

STEP 5: If you submitted option "No", then firstly generate your password by entering your Roll No, Email Id, Date of Birth and Exam session. The password will be sent to your registered Email Id or Phone no. After generating password tick "Yes" in Step 4.

STEP 6: After tick on "Yes", on the next page by entering your Roll No, Exam Session and Password you are able to download/print your e Certificate.

Note:
In case of Forgot password repeat STEP 5 to generate a new password. By given above steps you can download e Certificate of UGC NET.

UGC NET Certificate Validity

The UGC NET Certificate validity means, how long you can use it from the date of passing of the NET exam.

To get the awards of Junior Research Fellowship you can apply through it only for three years from the declaration of result. Within these three years, you will have to take admission in PhD or M. Phil to get JRF awards.

For Lectureship, the validity is forever.

Unable to Get Certificate by Online Mode

If you are unable to get your certificate by online mode, do not panic. To get your certificate, you just have to follow the given steps:

STEP 1: First of all, prepare a request letter on which mention your Roll No., the date of UGC NET in which you have appeared and UGC-Ref. No. (If Remembered) both inside and outside of the letter.

STEP 2: If you are not submitted your documents earlier then attach an Attested copy of the following documents given below:
  • High School/Higher Secondary/Matriculation Certificate depicting date of birth.
  • Master's degree/Provisional Certificate.
  • Consolidated mark sheet of Master's degree course. (Wherever grades are assigned, the conversion table in terms of consolidated percentage may be produced from the issuing authority).
  • Caste certificate (Only in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates)
  • Certificate of Physical disability (Only PWD candidates)
Note:
All Certificates must be attested by the Gazetted Officer with his/her official stamp bearing his/her name, designation and official address.

The certificates, which are in languages other than Hindi and English, may be translated in Hindi or English and attested by the issuing authorities of the original certificates.

STEP 3: Send this request letter to the following Address:

The Head, NET Bureau, UGC, South Campus, University of Delhi, Benito Juarez Marg., New Delhi 110021.

In case of Lost your Certificate

If you have lost/damage your certificate then no problem. By given steps below, you can get a duplicate certificate of UGC NET. A duplicate certificate can be issued in two conditions in case of loss/ damage or not getting the original one. To getting the duplicate certificate candidate may submit the following documents:

1) An affidavit on a Judicial stamp paper duly attested by the competent Authority for the loss of original certificate issued by the UGC mentioning the name of the candidate his/her particulars like father's and mother's names, date of UGC-NET, Roll number, subject address etc. The candidate must state in the affidavit that in case of his/her discovering the original NET certificate/JRF Award letter, he/she would not misuse it and return it to the NET Bureau.

2) A demand draft of Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of the Secretary, University Grants Commission, New Delhi payable at State Bank of India, Service Branch, (Code No. 7687), New Delhi.


3) An attested copy of FIR registered at a Police Station. The Attestation stamp of the Class-I gazetted officer must bear his/her name, designation and official address.

Write a request letter, attach all these documents and send to the following Address: 

The Head, NET Bureau, UGC, South Campus, University of Delhi, Benito Juarez Marg., New Delhi 110021.
