UGC NET Qualifying Marks 2018 for Paper 1 and Paper 2: Category-Wise


After the exam, many candidates want to know about UGC NET qualifying marks for 2018. Due to change in exam pattern of UGC NET in 2018, the qualifying marks for Paper 1/Paper 2 also changed. UGC NET Qualifying Marks 2018 for Paper 1 & 2

As we know, the UGC NET exam now contains two papers Paper 1 and Paper 2. First Paper same for all, whereas the 2nd Paper is subject orientated. Let us discuss Paper 1 qualifying marks:

1. Paper 1 Qualifying Marks

Paper 1 or we can say the first hurdle of UGC NET exam, which is necessary to qualify for every candidate. It contains the total of 50 questions of 100 marks and out of total marks the qualifying marks (& Percentage) category-wise given below.

According to the table given above the qualifying marks for the various categories follow as, General 40 (40%), OBC 35 (35%) and SC/ST/PWD 35 (35%).

Note: Paper 2 will be checked only after securing Paper 1 qualifying marks.

2. Paper 2 Qualifying Marks

The Paper 2 which is subject orientated contains total 100 questions of 200 marks and out of total marks the qualifying marks (& Percentage) category-wise given below for Paper 2.

According to the table given above the qualifying marks for the various categories follow as, General 80 (40%), OBC 70 (35%) and SC/ST/PWD 70 (35%).

After Qualifying Paper 1 and Paper 2

After Qualifying Paper 1 and Paper 2 :
Subject wise and category-wise lists are prepared by CBSE from the aggregate marks of Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Top 6% candidates form each subject are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in various colleges and Universities.

For the awards of Junior Research Fellowship, the separate subjects wise lists are prepared by CBSE of those candidates who opted JRF during filling of application form.

If you are selected for JRF/Lectureship, then after 2-3 months you will get a UGC NET e Certificate.
